4 Comments From Christians
Let’s start with a weird one:
I thought that the comments that I got on Instagram were crazy; once I started posting on Facebook, I’ve seen that they pale in comparison!
I have so many questions:
Why does he think an atheist isn’t free? Are we the ones bound by some words “inspired by god” that were written thousands of years ago by people who didn’t know where the sun went at night?
Why is he thinking about us touching ourselves?
Why the fuck is Daisy Ridley in the meme?
There’s so much projection from these people. They can’t fathom a world where godless people are happy.
Almost daily, I’m told that I’m associated with Satan to some degree, such as:
I worship Satan.
Satan is my father.
I once had someone tell me that I’m sponsored by Satan, so, of course, I had to turn that into merch.
Terry here had another take:
I wonder what an agent of Satan actually does.
I picture us as a bunch of Mr. Smiths from The Matrix.
Also, why do they always equate atheists with leftists?
I was a Republican atheist for like 7 years.
I do think that many atheists tend to make their way to the left, though, because that just so happens to be where empathy lives.
I think that Christians have to construct this false premise in their brain. They can’t possibly come to terms with the fact that we understand but reject the Bible and their god.
Imagine worshipping a god who watched what happened on Epstein Island but just kicked back with a cold one instead of stopping it.
Could never be me.
It’s a bit ironic that they claim atheism says “morality can be whatever I want” when they get their morality from a series of books that some dudes wrote a long time ago, claiming that they received messages from the sky that told them what morality is.
Seems like morality is whatever those guys wanted it to be in the Christian worldview.
3 Things You Should Know About
1. NaNoCon
I went to my first atheist convention, NaNoCon, last year, and it was such a good time!
You can read about it here.
I highly recommend it, and I’ll be there again this year.
Event description from their website:
NaNoCon is a gathering for all of us happy heathens living in the Bible Belt. We do it in Tennessee because Nashville is awesome, and because, well, here’s where it started! There’s typically not a lot here in the South for us non-religious types, so we figured we’d just have to start something ourselves.
Our first event was on March 5, 2016, and over 400 people showed up from a 6 state region, so we decided to keep it going. After our sixth in-person event in 2025 was a resounding success, now we’re gearing up for our 10-year anniversary in 2026!
We call it the Nashville “Nones” Convention -- this refers to the answer people like us give on surveys when we’re asked to select our religious preference, and we pick “None of the above.” Turns out there are actually quite a lot of us... one in four, maybe more. In fact, according to the survey people at Pew Research, apparently we’re one of the fastest-growing groups in the country. So, there might as well be something like this, by us and for us, to help us get connected.
What started out in 2016 as just a good idea among friends has since become a thing that has helped lots of people to connect, support each other’s journeys, and share experiences, ideas, and high fives.
Check it out, spread the word, let’s build something cool!

2. American Empathy Project
I’m so happy to be partnering with the American Humanist Association!
They’re giving away $100,000 in grants to fund service projects across the country, because empathy is stronger than cruelty!
From their website:
The American Empathy Project is an undertaking by the American Humanist Association. We are hosting a nationwide counter-offensive of defiant empathy through service by putting $100,000 directly into the hands of humanists and our allies to take a stand for our neighbors and for goodness. We will give you a ~$1,000 grant, a toolkit, and the support you need to organize an event in your community.
What is humanism?
Humanism is a progressive philosophy of life that states we all have the capacity for good, because caring for each other is in our DNA. Humanists value empathy, fairness, and critical thinking, and we demand the same of our institutions. We humanists embrace our responsibility to do right in our one life – not because we expect to be rewarded or “saved,” but because we have the power to create a better world and future through our actions.
3. Reign of Error
If you’re not familiar with Straight White American Jesus (SWAJ), you should be.
SWAJ is part of Axis Mundi Media: a research-based podcast network and media platform dedicated to distributing reliable and relevant content for audiences seeking to learn more about their world. And to transform it.
A new show on the network is Reign of Error:
Explore how religious and ideological extremism—especially white Christian nationalism—has become central to U.S. politics in the Trump era and beyond.
For decades, conservative evangelicals and conservative Catholics were united.
Same culture war battles. Same political goals. Same voting coalition.
That alliance helped build the Religious Right.
But now? There’s a crack forming.
A faction of MAGA Catholics is openly attacking Christian Zionism — saying evangelicals are “bending the knee” to Israel.
That’s not a small theological disagreement.
That’s a fracture inside the coalition that powered Trump.
When influencers tied to the Catholic far right start going after evangelical leaders, that signals something bigger than internet drama.
It signals a realignment.
The question isn’t just “Who’s right?”
The question is: What happens to the political machine if the alliance holding it together starts to unravel?
Because movements don’t collapse from outside pressure.
They crack from inside.

1 Thing to Brighten Your Day
Bear, a rescue dog known for his boundless energy, played a pivotal role in locating and saving over 100 koalas during Australia’s devastating ‘Black Summer’ bushfires of 2019-2020. Initially deemed challenging as a pet, Bear’s unique traits made him an ideal candidate for scent detection with the University of the Sunshine Coast’s Detection Dogs for Conservation team, supported by the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW). His efforts led to the rescue of numerous koalas that would have otherwise perished in the widespread fires, which significantly impacted koala populations across New South Wales and other regions. Bear was subsequently honored at the Animal Action Awards for his remarkable contributions to wildlife conservation. The work of detection dogs like Bear continues to be crucial for wildlife rescue and research, including studying the long-term health and habitat impacts on koalas. Koalas remain a vulnerable species, with ongoing conservation efforts aiming to protect them from threats like bushfires and habitat loss.
