I'm a bitter ex.
Who the f*** is Isaac Gilchrist?
Welcome to Holy Nonsense, where we laugh at religious absurdity!
As a person who makes content about being a former Christian, I get the following comments frequently:
Why do you talk about a god you don’t believe in?
You must really believe deep down to post about god so much.
How do you hate a god that doesn’t exist?
And also “you made a whole page….” blah blah blah, which is the path Rachel took:
Ok, so the first part of her comment makes sense. I’m used to people saying that.
“You made a whole Facebook page…” yet they miss the point entirely. My content isn’t for god. It’s definitely not for Christians.
It’s for people who don’t believe.
Then, her comment got weird. The restorer is coming…
And then it got weirder. Who the fuck is Isaac Gilchrist?
The only one I could find is this poor bastard:
Get ready, kid. You have a big job coming up.

Consider becoming a paid subscriber. It’s $5/month to join, which is roughly the price of a Cheesy Gordita Crunch. You’ll be helping me fight Christian nationalism and fueling my Taco Bell addiction.
And remember: you don’t need a god to be good!

She had visions. Kinda hard to refute that TBH. Guess it’s time to retire the page. You had a good run! /s
I formerly served as a Missouri-Synod Lutheran (LCMS) pastor and the first church I served at went down the Pentecostal path. For context, the LCMS is historically a fairly conservative denomination that doesn’t really believe in modern day signs and wonders - Hebrews 1:1-2.
We had a volunteer staff member who believed she was a prophetess. She believed that god was talking to her in her car one time so loudly that she had to pull off to the side of the road for safety. Yeah…exactly.
You can’t reason with people like that.
Haha, good stuff. As usual, people will believe anything. Poor Gilchrist. 😆
