I actually just deleted my Threads account and I’ve indefinitely deactivated my Facebook account. I realized I’m at a point where I’ve recognized I just don’t have the patience for their Holy Nonsense. Their smug attitudes and faux humility. Even some of the groups and pages I used to find some refuge in tend to get infiltrated by Christians who think they have that *one* argument you haven’t heard. That maybe they will be able to show you the light and proselytize you. I’m tired of trying to even reason with them. Maybe someday I’ll rejoin the fray but for now, even though it’s been really years since I deconstructed, it’s still too much at times to be around that nonsense directly. I’ll just consume content like this from afar.

Book recommend, to anyone interested-Susan Jacoby's terrific "Freethinkers." The next time someone angrily declares this to be a "Christian Nation" know better, with details and history. Thomas Paine, Mark Twain, Robert Ingersoll, these were not triffling people. 👍

You know exactly what *they’re* afraid of: that their “true” god will hear them say that Vishnu is their one and only savior and will thus reject them because they rejected the “true” god.

The wonderful thing about not being a god believer is living your life without worrying about someone keeping track of your every thought and action, nonstop, 24/7/365, and grading you on it!
